I have to rave about some amazing friends of mine!
I've been going through a pretty rough time lately. Not leaving my house, not calling any of my girlfriends here in Halifax, nothing. Basically what one would call a depression. I even bailed on last minute plans with my friends last weekend because I didn't have the money or the "happiness" to go over to their house. I really haven't felt this depressed ever in my life. And I know it's all because I was only planning to spend a week here in Halifax, instead of nearly two months (and counting!).
I've ranted to some of my friends on a message board and they noticed how depressed I've been lately. They've been there to chat with me and let me know that it's okay to be this sad, that what I'm feeling is normal given my situation (aka when will my life ever be normal?!). And this is where the rave comes in!
Last Friday, my friend Erin treated me to a girls night out to dinner! We met up with another friend Jenn and had an amazing dinner at Ducky's (in Alderney Landing....great little restaurant!) and it was so much fun to get out and do something. Then, two days ago, I got some mail from the NSLC....in the envelope contained a gift card from my friend Brenda in Ontario! She said I should spend it on a girls night out and stop sitting at home all the time!
And, I'm heading out on Saturday night too - off to a joint birthday party for some of my old coworkers from Old Navy! Girls night and martinis....should be fun!
I feel truly lucky to have so many amazing friends in my life. Every single one of them has enhanced my life, whether they know it or not. And every single one of them is what's helping me get through this time apart from my honey; again, whether they know it or not. I'm trying to look on the positive side of things these days and trying not to let this minor blip in my life get me down.
So, to my Lounge girls, my sorority girls, to all my friends - thank you! Your friendship and love has meant so much to me and I can only hope to enrich your lives as much as you've enriched mine!
Yes, I know this is a sappy blog post, but whatever....I'm in a sappy mood! ;)
(BTW - still no word on the job. I'm hoping that they'll call soon...I miss my honey!)

What a crazy night!
I survived the World's Largest Pub Crawl....just barely! ;) I have never seen so many people at the Dome in my entire clubbing history....it was so nuts there! So bad that you couldn't move on the dance floor and some chick shoved me, and I was *thisclose* to turning around and punching her in the face. But I restrained myself!
So, on to the fun stuff! I'll have a bunch more pics on my website shortly, but some highlights:
The girls at our first bar, the Warehouse:

Nicole and I starting the night out right and having a lovely Chocolate Chip shooter at the Mercury:

All the girls we knew on our pub crawl (#10, baby!) chilling at the Mercury:

Nicole and I dancing at Bubbles' Mansion:

The girls after our shots of Blue-Eyed Blondes at the Palace:

Nicole, Chelsea and I at the end of the night at the Dome:

End result? Fun night out with my girls from Old Navy, many shots to be had, 3000+ people cruising around downtown Halifax....and hopefully one World Record broken! We haven't heard the official word yet, but when we do, I'll be sure to mention it in my blog!
The only thing I would've done different (maybe!) is not wear my cute silver heels downtown. Buy the time we hit the 3rd bar, my feet were soooo sore.
But they looked damn cute! ;)

Get ready for it, Halifax...
....cause tonight is the World's Largest Pubcrawl! :)
http://www.worldslargestpubcrawl.com/main.php
It is going to be insane tonight! I somehow scored a ticket from my amazing old coworker at Old Navy, Stacy! 3200 people, all on one giant pub crawl (though the crawl is broken into 19 mini crawls - we're on #10!), getting their drink on in downtown Halifax! It is going to rock!
I'm so excited for this...and I'll be part of a Guinness World Record too! Wheee!!!! My camera's ready for some wild pics, my shirt is cuter than it was 12 hours ago (the shirts are so ugly, but I made it a little more fitted and girly last night!) and I am ready to go! Only 4.5 more hours left till it starts!
I'll post pics and a full update here, probably tomorrow after I've recovered! :P
If you're in downtown Halifax tonight, stay FAR away from people wearing sand colored shirts....we are going to be a wild and crazy bunch!

Superbowl Sunday!!!
Okay, first off....people actually DO read my blog! Woo hoo! Thanks to you girlies who did reply to my last post....now I know I'm not just typing for my health (which isn't such a bad thing...but I like to be heard sometimes!).
Now.....on to what should be a national holiday - Superbowl Sunday! :) I'm stoked for today, as I am every year. Wishing like mad that my Cowboys were playing, but their time will come. Hopefully next year! ;) I'm rooting for the Colts today. I was waffling between the Colts and the Bears, but went with the Colts. While it would be fun to yell "DA Bears!" all night long, I'll stick with Peyton Manning and the Colts for the win.
My family is having our annual really-bad-for-you food spread, which I'm stoked for. We've got:
Ah well....it's Superbowl Sunday! And I'm gonna have a cooler now! ;)

- cheesy beef wraps
- nachos
- garlic fingers
- sweet and sour drumsticks
- peach cobbler
- and of course....drinks! Beer for dad and coolers for me (Mike's Hard Lemonade, of course!)
Ah well....it's Superbowl Sunday! And I'm gonna have a cooler now! ;)
