I ended up having 23 people come. Yep, only 23 people out of my graduating class of well over 200. Even worse when tons of people said they loved the idea and would be there...but never made it. The contract I signed with the Silva stipulated that even if I canceled the cruise, I'd still owe them the money. So I knew that canceling was NOT an option for me...which meant I had to find the money to pay the Silva the morning of the reunion.
I'm now stuck with a $2000 bill, paid partially between my mom's credit card and my husband's card. It was the most fucking expensive cruise I have and will EVER pay for...and you can best believe that I won't be the one planning our 20 year reunion after this debacle.
The people who did come come out had a blast, though, and that made me happy. We chatted, caught up and drank a LOT. It was great seeing so many old friends, including a few that I went to school with since elementary, like my friend Lorne:

We even finished the cruise out with a loud, drunken rendition of our school song! It poured the entire time we sailed around Halifax Harbour, but we didn't let that stop us ex-Spartans!

Overall, I had a blast on the cruise and I feel sad that more of my classmates didn't make it out to enjoy themselves with the rest of us. Their loss....well, theirs and mine now too, I guess.
Art and I had discussed when I would move to Florida (once he officially gets a job) and we agreed that November would be a good time. However, now that I owe this huge bill from the reunion, I likely won't be leaving until just before Christmas. I've been upset and angry and pretty much every emotion possible this past week, realizing that this will make my time here in Halifax 4 WHOLE years. :(
Ah well, at least I had a fun cruise on the harbour! I even ended the night soaked and walking through puddles past my ankles with Carmen:

Someone please remind me in 10 years that under no circumstances am I allowed to volunteer myself to plan our 20 year reunion....
